Calhoun County Honey Jubilee and Farm Fest: June 1-3, 2017

The 2017, Calhoun County Honey Jubilee & Farm Fest will be held June 1st - 3rd in Saint Matthews, South Carolina. This three days of fun, fellowship, and fact-finding about our

pollinator friends and their effects on farming and gardening is sure to entertain and educate.

Thursday, June 1st at 6:30pm The Jubilee kicks off with a Farm to Table Dinner & Lecture. It will feature local cuisine by Dupre Catering & Events and mead tasting by Savannah Bee Company. Dr. Jennifer Tsuruda, Phd, Apiculture Specialist, Clemson University, will deliver a lecture entitled "The Power of Bees and Pollinators." The well-learned bee enthusiast as well as the novice will enjoy an exceptional dining experience and learn a thing or two about what makes that exquisite food possible.

If you would like to attend the Farm to Table Dinner & Lecture RSVP (RSVP is a French phrase, "répondez, s'il vous plaît." It means "please reply." In this case call The Calhoun County Library ~ 803-655-6306 by May 25th. The cost for the dinner and lecture is $25 and will be held at Holly Oak Farm, 15 Muller Lake Road, Sandy Run, SC 29160.

And on Friday, June 2nd, are a series of workshops beginning at 10:00am. These workshops are led by beekeeping and gardening experts. Checkout the schedule here:

Registration is required for each of these workshops so call The Calhoun County Library at 655-6306 and let them know you are coming.

Saturday's events, June 3rd, will have Barbecue and other foods, children's crafts and activities, educational programs, a farmer's market and plant sale, music and entertainment, and vendors, vendors, vendors!
