Cameron Mayor & Council Seats Included In November General Election

TOWN OF CAMERON

GENERAL ELECTION

 

 The Calhoun County Board of Voter Registration and Elections announces the General Election for the Town of Cameron to be Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Any person wishing to register to vote in this election must do so no later than October 6, 2017. To register, one must contact the Calhoun County Board of Voter Registration, Courthouse Annex, St. Matthews, SC.

 

The following offices shall be included in this election:

Mayor

Two (2) seats for Town Council

 

The polling place for these districts is Cameron Community Club, 5392 Cameron Rd, Cameron, SC. The polls shall open at 7:00am on Election Day and close at 7:00pm.

 

Citizens desiring to be a candidate for the above listed office may file at the Calhoun County Voter Registration and Elections Office, 102 Courthouse Drive, Suite 115, St. Matthews, SC . Books will be open for filing at 12 noon on August 1, 2017 and remain open during regular business hours until 12 noon on August 15, 2017. There is no filing fee for these offices. This is a non-partisan election and no party affiliation shall be placed on the ballot.

 

At 9:00am on said Election Day, the poll managers will begin examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes. This examination will be held at Calhoun County Voter Registration & Elections Office, 102 Courthouse Drive, St. Matthews, SC.

 

On Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 2:00pm at the Calhoun County Voter Registration and Elections Office, the Board of Voter Registration and Elections will hold a hearing to determine the validity of ballots challenged in this election.

 

Any run off will be held two weeks after the election on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
