Sandy Run Students Write Essays that Pay Off

The following students received checks from the Sandy Run Ruritan Club for an essay competition on the topic “If There Were No Constitution or Other Laws to Live by, What Do You Think Would Happen in This Country?”

The Sandy Run Ruritan Committee on Citizenship and Patriotism, chaired by Howard Pees, sponsored this essay competition for fifth graders at Sandy Run Elementary School.  There were over 60 essays provided by Mr. Day’s history class, and the competition was strong.  We want to encourage composition skills at the school so that students will be more successful academically.

Congratulations to these young patriotic citizens that we have honored.
