"Each year, [Library Journal's Movers & Shakers] shines a spotlight on a cohort of about fifty top changemakers who are transforming what it means to be a librarian."

During the April 9th county council meeting, Lee Prickett, Calhoun County Administrator, told the Council, "She does a wonderful job for us [the county]!

Council Chairman David Summers added, “And I’ll tell you another thing about Kristen, she makes the best cakes. She’ll bring them to the Rotary Club.”

Chuckles could be heard throughout the chamber as Kristen asked if she could bring one to the next budget meeting.

Kristen humbly accepted the recognition given at this council meeting saying, “I love this county. I plan to live the rest of my life in this county…. I love the opportunities you’ve given me. I’ve got a great staff. All of it made possible through the support of the county.”

For a county of about 14,000 residents the library's resources are well used, seeing about 56,000 visits per year.
