D.A.R.E. Association of South Carolina Announces Educator of the Year: She's One of Ours!

Columbia, SC— May 18, 2018 —The D.A.R.E. Association of South Carolina announced the selection of the Educator of the Year – For outstanding support of the School Resource Officer program, D.A.R.E drug resistance, and school violence prevention programs, and overall performance / dedication as an educator.  “Mrs. Brenda Newton Goodwin represents herself as a selfless dedicated principal, educator, and role model. She is always looking out for the best interests of the faculty, staff, and students of Sandy Run K8. Mrs. Brenda Goodwin has a very strong working relation with the assigned SRO at Sandy Run K8 to help ensure the safety for all within the school at all times. She has also built  trust within the community as she also has a strong desire for the D.A.R.E. Program being taught at Sandy Run K8 to help students and staff to make good choices and life changing decisions by applying  the D.A.R.E. Decision Making Model (Define, Assess, Respond and Evaluate),” said Will Gibson, President at D.A.R.E. Association of South Carolina.

 

Mrs. Brenda Goodwin will receive the award at the D.A.R.E. / SRO conference in Myrtle Beach, SC at the Double Tree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront on June 14th at the Awards Banquet.
