The Ruritan National Foundation Build Your Dollar Program with the Sandy Run Ruritan Club and the following businesses: DAK Americas, Inc., Devro, Inc., Environmental Fabrics, Inc., Precision Plumbing, Inc. and Tri-County Electric Coop., Inc. gave three scholarships to deserving Sandy Run students for their college funds. The Sandy Run students who received these scholarships (Photo at bottom, left to right) are Nicholas Ross Whisnant, son of Randall and Suzanne Whisnant, graduate of Calhoun County High School, Kylee Miranda Williams, daughter of Dean and Miranda Williams, graduate of Calhoun Academy, and Amber Nicole Hardee, daughter of Gary and Ginger Hardee, graduate of Gray Collegiate Academy. Nicholas will attend the University of South Carolina as a Capstone Scholar and pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science followed by medical school to become a Physician’s Assistant. Amber will finish her Associate Degree at Midlands Technical College, go to Francis Marion University for a Bachelor’s Degree, then attend the Medical University of South Carolina and major in Occupational Physical Therapy.
